Contribution of FIACAT and ACAT Burundi to the Third Universal Periodic Review of Burundi
The aim of the alternative report (only in French) drafted by a coalition of INGOs and Burundian NGOs is to assess the implementation of the recommendations and commitments made by Burundi regarding the improvement of the human rights situation since the country's second Universal Periodic Review (UPR).
The signatory organizations wish to draw attention to a number of concerns. These concerns relate mainly to cooperation with treaty bodies, torture and ill-treatment, detention conditions, enforced disappearances, extrajudicial executions, the fight against impunity, international justice, transitional justice, civil liberties, incitement to hatred and violence against women.
