[UPR] FIACAT and ACAT Canada's concerns

Contribution of FIACAT and ACAT Canada to the Third Universal Periodic Review of Canada

The aim of the alternative report (only in French) drafted by FIACAT and ACAT Canada is to assess the implementation of the recommendations and commitments made by Canada concerning the improvement of the human rights situation since the second Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of this country.

FIACAT and ACAT Canada wish to draw attention to a number of concerns. These concerns relate mainly to the obligation to prevent torture, the situation in places of deprivation of liberty and the mechanisms for monitoring places of deprivation of liberty.
