ACAT Togo is a Togolese human rights association that acts for the abolition of torture and the death penalty in Togo. ACAT Togo is affiliated to FIACAT since 1993. It is a member of the SOS -torture network of the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT) and a member of the Coalition for an Effective African Court of Human and Peoples’ rights. Established in 1990, ACAT Togo is an apolitical human rights association which aims in particular to protect the physical and moral integrity of people and to fight against torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatments or punishment. It is composed of over 18 Togolese Christians and works in collaboration with others.

ACAT Togo carries out the following activities:

  • Human rights education
  • Prayer
  • Training of young people
  • Monitoring of places of detention,
  • Urgent appeals
  • Legal assistance for victims.
