[UPR] ACAT France and FIACAT’s Report on the situation of torture and ill-treatment in France

ACAT France and FIACAT’s concerns about torture and ill treatment in France. Presented to the Human Rights Council for its examination of France under the Universal Periodic Review, 2nd session, from May 5-16, 2008.

ACAT France and FIACAT would like to bring the situation of detained persons, asylum-seekers, and foreigners facing deportation or other proceedings in France to the attention of the Council.

This document contains two annexes:

Annex I: Recommendations to the French State and factual report. Annex II: Recommendations concerning the law adapting France’s penal code to the establishment of the ICC.
