ACAT Mali was established in 1996 and recognised by the local authorities in 1998. It is affiliated to FIACAT since 2004. ACAT Mali’s activities are focused on the abolition of torture and the death penalty. Its members ensure the improvement of detention conditions by visiting prisons regularly. ACAT Mali works closely with other human rights organisation of the civil society but also with the National Human Rights Commission of Mali.
