- 2005 :

The FIACAT’s Appeal of the month of August 2005 was proposed by ACAT Mexico on "Forced transfer of a torture victim to a high security prison".

- 2004 :

FIACAT had the pleasure of welcoming Reyna Vásquez, director of ACAT Mexico, during her visit to Paris in December.

She described to us the cases of torture victims monitored in Mexico and the threats which are still being received by ACAT lawyers defending them (notably before the Interamerican Human Rights Court), In October, ACAT took part in a meeting on the theme of torture with 17 Latin American organisations. T

his network, of which ACAT has been a member for 4 years, meets each year in a different country.

On the national level, ACAT is recognised and organises regular training sessions (e.g. for court-appointed lawyers).

- 2003 :

ACAT has opened a reception centre for victims of torture and their families in the State of Guerrero.
It made representations to the Mexican authorities after the disappearance in May of Mr Hernández Aryzmendi (member of the Revolutionary Democratic Party and the EPR) and following the threats made against Mr Guzmán Martínez (leader of the peasant organisation in the "Sierra del Sun" in the State of Guerrero) in July.

In the context of the first case brought against Mexico at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights -relating to acts of torture and the arbitrary detention of Alfonso Martin del Campo Dodd- ACAT was invited to give evidence.
