Implementation of the Robben Island Guidelines in Francophone Africa
Bamako, 11-13 December 2007

The seminar, co-organized by The Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT) and the International Federation of Action by Christians for the Abolition of Torture (FIACAT), marked the second phase of a three-year project which the launch took place in Bujumbura, Burundi in December 2006. The Bamako seminar brought together participants from the following countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Central African Republic, Congo, Madagascar, Mali, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Chad and Togo.

The central theme of the seminar was the "protection of persons deprived of liberty."
