Blessed are you, Lord,
who can open the hearts and eyes of those who sanction,
ordain or carry out torture.

Some are products of a flawed training system and have lost their sense of true human values;
others are slaves to a false concept of obedience as the supreme value.

You alone, Lord, can save them!

Blessed are you, Lord,
who, through your Son Jesus Christ, forgave your
executioners.
We beg that the torturer’s heart and conscience may be touched and transformed by the supreme gift of your love!

Béni sois-tu, Seigneur,
Toi qui, en ton Fils Jésus-Christ, as pardonné aux bourreaux.
