Lord Jesus,
You endured ill-treatment and torture.
Those who cry in pain at the hands of their torturers can see themselves reflected in you.
Give them renewed strength and hope.
May their sufferings cease and may they enjoy freedom.
In your goodness, do not turn away from the victims of torture.
May they dwell in you, and find in your presence a refuge, a rock.
