FIACAT has Observer status before the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR) since 1991. As such, it participates to the ordinary sessions of the Commission to share its concerns about the violations of Human Rights in Africa.

FIACAT particularly follows the activities of the Special Rapporteur on Prison Conditions in Africa, the Committee for the Prevention of Torture in Africa (CPTA) and the Working Group on the death penalty in Africa.
