Every human being has the right to live free from the threat of torture, and other cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment or punishment. These forms of abuse are universally condemned and absolutely prohibited by various international treaties and principles of international law. Nevertheless, these violations of fundamental human rights still continue to occur in every region of the world.
By working with other NGOs as international coalitions, FIACAT can ensure that the fight against torture, inhuman and degrading treatment, against the death penalty and enforced disappearances reaches the widest possible audience.
